Fairmount was dispatched to the Warners Fire District on a reported structure fire at 5889 Breed Road near Rolling Hills Road in the Town of Camillus. Upon Warners Chief's arriving, heavy fire was showing out side A of the house and blowing out the front door of the residence. This is a large home that rests approximately 1/8th of a mile off of the road and the fire was burning for some time without being noticed due to the location of the house. A neighbor called this in after seeing flames. There was noone home at the residence at the time of the fire. Fairmount responded as the RIT team, Rescue 1 was initally listed as Out Of Service, which was incorrect and Howlett Hill was dispatched as the Primary RIT. With several personnel in house already at the time of alarm, FFD Car 1 marked enroute, followed by Rescue 1, and advised fire control of the error. Howlett Hill stood by in Quarters with a full engine crew on the floor. Crews did make entry into the residence, and were eventually called out to Outside Operations due to the deterioration of the roof and heavy fire load in the 2nd floor and attic area.
